MSU Flute Studio

The goal of lessons and of participation in flute studio class is to develop all aspects of the flutist’s art: musical interpretation, repertoire, technique, physical awareness, pedagogy and learning processes, and performance. Lessons will concentrate on the individual needs of the student with the expectation that, regardless of academic major, all members will be responsible for a high standard of preparation, performance, participation, and professional conduct.

Music Performance in Ireland

Participating individuals are encouraged to use their musical craft to better understand the culture of Ireland and their own identity while ultimately improving and expanding their skills as well-rounded, highly-skilled musicians. Students attend daily masterclasses, performances, and lectures held at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in the heart of Dublin, Ireland. Dublin is considered an ideal location due to its abounding musical activity, music history, and appreciation for the arts. Short excursion trips around the country provide students with a greater variety of performance and service engagement opportunities as well as sightseeing of beautiful landmarks throughout Ireland.
